Josef Sjöblom is a multidisciplinary creative based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Artist
Josef Sjöblom is a Swedish independent artist carving a niche in the realm of experimental soul music. Collaborating with diverse singers, his work becomes a tapestry of emotive vocals intertwined with intricate arrangements. With an unwavering commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, Josef Sjöblom invites listeners into a sonic realm where soul meets the unexplored.

Choir Conductor
Sjöblom is educated at the Royal College of Music in ensemble and choral singing. He has taught at some of Stockholm's top music schools and has experience as a conductor for gospel choir, chamber choir, and vocal ensemble. Josef is now part of The Real Group Academy and has been leading the show & pop choir Take a note since fall 2019. 2023 he established the project Vocal ensemble Josef Sjöbloms Vokalensemble as a part of the Swedish composer Stefan Nilsson tribute concert.

Music producer & composer
Josef Sjöblom is a composer and producer with a broad set of tools. As a composer, he has been hired to write signature melodies and soundtracks for theater, short films, podcasts, and commercials.

Sjöblom is primarily a pianist and keyboardist in the jazz/soul/pop genres with a broad range of classical influences. He’s also a professional singer and plays a variety of instruments such as guitar, drums, bass, accordeon and organ.

2023 he debuted as an independent soul artist. Sjöblom also arranges and composes vocal music and produces music and concerts.

Director of Photography
Josef photographs, films, and edits video. Music videos and concerts make up the majority of his assignments, but he also produces interviews, PR, informational- and educational videos. 2024 he released the music documentary ”Vad gör livet med oss?” in collaboration with Fisksätra Museum.

Instrumentalist
Josef is primarily a pianist and keyboardist with training in Afro-music/jazz and a broad range of classical influences. He plays in deMilo, Rensjö duo, and accompanies choirs and solo artists. He is also sometimes hired as a bassist and percussionist.

Singer
With a background as a student at the Adolf Fredriks Music School and the Stockholms Musikgymnasium as well as the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Josef has a long experience as a choir and ensemble singer. Josef previously sung baritone in the vocal ensemble VoNo, led by Professor Lone Larsen. He is also a former singer in the experimental vocal ensemble Roliga Sångförsöket, founded by Katarina Henryson and Morten Vinther. In 2017, he participated in Marina Abramovic: The Cleaner (Stockholm) in the permanent ensemble. In 2021, he sang on recordings with Mika Karlsson: Trespassing and Erik Enockson: Norberg. 2022 Rebecka Karijord: Songs of Earth (* Winner of Best Documentary Score at the International Sound & Film Festival / Crystal Pine Awards 2024).
